The Color of Darkness

The darkness lifts
as the light replaces
what was a chill
running down my spine
a questioning feeling,
unable to shake
in the pit of my gut,
a knowing
I was too deaf to hear,
a vision
I was too blind to see,
it doesn't take long though
for the light to show through
the colors of the spectrum
unveiling the depth
of its true color
when blended -
black -
black -
black -
it's the color of darkness
it's the color of light
it's the feeling you get
that shakes right through
its the knowing
that never lets you be
its the vision
of the truth unseen
Now the darkness lifts
and the true colors I see
before they find there way back
to the truths of their beginnings

its the color of darkness
as the light replaces

I breathe in the black -
understanding -
truth.
